Even though I was recommended for a brain operation I was put at ease straight away by Mr Patmanaban and his team. Everything step by step was explained to myself and family and reasurance was continued throughout my care. Any concerns were addressed immediately and I had no problems with asking. The care and attention by staff members were great. Now it has been almost six months since the operation and I feel absolutely wonderful.

Reading the reviews from previous patients sums up this special person. He really put me at ease and I felt safe in the knowledge that he would be carrying out my operation. My first meeting on the Friday before my surgery on Monday having my brain tumour removed could not have gone better. The care I had from Mr Pathmanaban and the whole team at Salford Royal Hospital I came in contact with pre and post-surgery was impeccable. He explained things clearly while having a great manner and charmless. I was so lucky to have had Mr Pathmanaban as my consultant. Also a big thank to the Neurosurgery and ENT department at Salford Royal. It’s now three months since the surgery and I’m about to return back to my teaching job thanks to the great care I received. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Mr Pathmanaban , listened to me and treated me in a caring and compassionate way. Mr Pathmanaban performed Microvascular Decompression surgery (MVD) to treat my Trigeminal Neuralgia . The surgery has been a great success and I have regained my quality of life and look forwards to the future . I would highly recommend Mr Pathmanaban as a Neurosurgeon , I am very grateful to him and all the team at Salford Royal for the excellent care I received.

I was taken into Salford Royal Hospital suddenly after a scan showed I had a large tumour in the back of my head. Dr Pathmanaban took over my case after the previously scheduled Consultant told me that Dr Pathmanaban specialised in the type of Neurosurgery I needed. He came to see me on my ward & although I had noted down a large number of questions to ask him he managed to answer nearly all of them before I had the chance to ask them. He explained each aspect of the surgery both during & after , making sure both myself & my husband fully understood what was going to happen. On the morning of my surgery he came into the anesthetic room to say hello & ask if i was ok? This really put me at ease & it really showed that whilst he is very professional, he also has a very caring quality too. After the surgery he told me that he had managed to remove all of the tumour even though he had previously explained that due to the difficult position this may not be possible without risking further complications, this clearly shows his skills & expertise. I would fully recommend Dr Pathmanaban as a surgeon as he exceeded my expectations of a Consultant/ patient rapport & more importantly the overall outcome.

On first meeting Mr Pathmanaban I felt confident I was in safe hands, he talked through the operation step by step and took the time to explain each stage of the procedure. He obviously picked up on my nervousness pre-op and came to make sure I was happy to go ahead shortly before I was due in theatre. Everything proceeded well and recovery was as predicted, with no surprises as all the side affects had been explained and were expected. Tho I’d rather not meet Mr Pathmanaban again in his professional capacity, His would be if needed the first door I knocked on.
